Euronete participated on European Maritime Day 2019 contributing to sustainable fisheries

This international event, counting more than 1500 participants from more than 50 countries, was realized by the first time in Portugal during 16th and 17th of May.

Established in 2008, the event has become an annual meeting place for maritime professionals, entrepreneurs and ocean leaders, being the European Commission’s biggest maritime policy event.

During the two-day conference more than 150 speakers participated in the debates during 8 breakout sessions organised by the Commission, 28 workshops organised by blue economy stakeholders, and 21 pitch presentations, debating a safer maritime space, smarter and robust Blue Economy and better sea governance.

More than 140 B2B meetings and more than 100 exhibitors, a record for European Maritime Day.

Between exhibitors and participants we could count on the presence of universities, research centres, clusters and governmental entities.

The main objectives on which member states of the EU focused were the illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, sustainable Aquaculture, Marine litter and circular economy, Clean Shipping, Clusters cooperation and Tourism.

Euronete was present with a booth, presenting his range of products and “circular economy initiatives”

Also, presented the event with a picnic table “PicNet table” made from recycled fishing nets, thus showing their concern for the oceans.
